Über Leben mit Beigeschmack‍ ‍

Biographical Research | Dance | Film | 2026

How can personal memories and lived experiences be translated into movement? How does the body carry emotions, and how can dance give physical expression to what is difficult to put into words?

As part of a biographical project initiated by the Munich AIDS-Hilfe and led by Sigrid Reinichs and Marcel Kowalewski, an artistic collaboration emerged between Manfred Pauli-Deeken and Sascha Paar.

Drawing on Manfred's personal story and dramaturgical concept, the work explores four emotional states: fear, grief, anger, and hope. These emotions form the dramaturgical structure of the video, guiding the translation of biographical experiences into movement and choreographic actions.

Through a collaborative process, Manfred's experiences became the starting point for a physical exploration of memory, vulnerability, resistance, and transformation.

The process was captured and translated into film by Sigrid Reinichs. Alongside the film, a live performance was developed for presentation on December 5, 2026, at the Munich AIDS-Hilfe.
